Project True: Waves

TRUE Final-01

Project True: Waves

Every year an estimated 1.4 billion pounds of trash is estimated to enter the ocean, and this amount is constantly rising. The ocean makes up over 70% of our planet and we are harming and contaminating it everyday. Ocean pollution is a real problem and change needs to take place. There are small things we can do everyday to help the ocean become cleaner. By rising awareness of ocean pollution and the sources of pollution we can start to help    solve these problems and come up with a solution.

Attempting again to put the information of this continuously growing problem into visual representation. I will try and put the data into easier to understand representations to bring the scale of the issue into proportion.

Popularity of Games

video_games.jpgFor this project, I am doing the different popularity of games . I really enjoy and like to play games, so I want to research more about how popular game types have change through time. Different types of games have been popular. Before, board games were played by everyone and it was everywhere, but then video games got more popular. Throughout the time, games have changed and people interest of also change. I would like to research more about the gaming topic.

Dress Code

For this project, I am doing it on dress codes between female and male students. This had become a huge problem because many students and adults have noticed that dress codes are drastically different between male and female students. For example, female students will get called out for showing a shoulder, while male students won’t. Many problems have occurred like transgender students being sent home because they are not wearing something that’s is expected of their legal sex. Schools should update this dress code issue because it has become one of the biggest issues.

Bee Extinction

My project is about Bee Extinction. There is a general misconception that all the bees are becoming extinct. However, current studies show that honey bees are not the species that dying, but the seven varieties of yellow-faced, or masked bees in Hawaii as endangered. Bombus affinis is the first bumble bee species to given that status, and the first wild bee of any kind to be listed in the Lower 48 states. This doesn’t means that we should only focus on Bombus bees and wild bees, because once one species were dead, other would die like domino. b23ab460198439.5a417e1e2b4bb

Statistics on Immigrants and Immigration in the United States

The United States has been the top22_immigrationnation_wdestination for international migrants since at least 1960, with one-fifth of the world’s migrants living there as of 2017. Despite its long history of immigration, the United States has oscillated between perceiving immigration as a valuable resource and as a major challenge. The 2016 election and significant actions on immigration taken by the Trump administration have further raised the issue in political and public debates.

For my info graphic I have decided to take some key statistics of immigration within the United States and organizing it into a pleasing easy to read manner which will also incorporate the issue(s) at hand.

The Statistics are going to be pertaining to:

  • Refugees and Asylum Seekers
  • Immigration over time: TOP STATES
  • Children with immigrant parents
